The Youth in Sustainable Energy and Mobility (YSEM) is on a mission to empower young change-makers to revolutionize the transport sector with innovative E-mobility solutions.
This is a critical step toward achieving a cleaner, zero-emission future and building a sustainable world. But we’re not stopping at electric vehicles; our vision encompasses a broader scope of sustainable mobility and clean energy.
By equipping young leaders with the knowledge and tools needed to drive the shift to cleaner transport and energy sources, we’re not only fostering sustainability but also creating a vibrant ecosystem for change.
This initiative seeks to harness the energy and creativity of young minds to transform how we power and move our communities, ultimately leading to a more sustainable, efficient and resilient transportation landscape.
Elly is a graduate engineer with expertise in Network Management, Solar PV Design, Energy Storage Technology, Inverters, Charge Controllers, Infrastructure Services and LAN Technologies.
He supports in fostering and managing relationships with external partners on a global scale to support the organization’s objectives across various areas.
Esther has a background in renewable energy law and policy, climate change law and Environmental resources law. She is an advocate of the High court of Kenya. Her role at YSEM involves involves managing and enhancing relationships between YSEM and its external partners. Her responsibilities are aimed at ensuring successful collaboration that aligns with YSEM’S goal. She currently works as a legal analysy in EED Advisory.
Esther has a background in Renewable Energy and supports in running of the day-to-day programs of the initiative . Her role involves strategic planning, project management, resource allocation and stakeholder engagement for YSEM.
She has over 6 years experience in project management and technical assistance.
Irvine Koech is a mechanical engineer with expertise in energy efficiency and renewables. He is passionate about influencing energypolicies and youth inclusion in sustainability.
Koech’s work focuses on overcoming challenges to renewable energy implementation, particularly in rural schools.
Paul supports in coordinating YSEM training programs, curriculum development and advocacy campaigns. He has extensive knowledge in both energy and emobility and is a co-founder and CEO for Raynow Energy.
Yvonne has a background experience in administration, sustainability, environmental and climate change consulting. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from Kenyatta University. She leads daily administrative activities, communication, meetings, as well as coordinating content in YSEM’S social media pages.
Norah Magero is a Mechanical Engineer and a Renewable Energy Consultant with experience in the design and management of off-grid energy utilities. She provides expertise, and support to ensure that sustainability principles are integrated in the different workstreams. Norah is also founder and CEO Drop Access.
He has a background in engineering and sustainable business development and holds a BSc. in Electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Nairobi.
His experience is in starting and scaling up startups in the renewable energy business. He supports strategy development and advises on matters of sustainable energy.
Warren provides expert advice, strategic guidance, and technical support to the initiative to enable it deliver its mandate. He is also the current Managing director at Africa Emobility Alliance
She has 12 years of experience in legal advice, project and infrastructure development, public private partnerships, project finance and energy management. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in law from UON as well as a master’s degree in international trade and investment law. Her role at YSEM involves legal advice and guidance.
